You know those pieces hanging in your closet that just put you in a better mood? This little dress from Dandy Boutique is one of them. Not only does it totally scream summer, but I also can’t decide whether it reminds me more of Zazu from The Lion King or a box of Froot Loops – and frankly, all of those things put me in a better mood, so I’m kind of not surprised at the happiness factor of this frock.
I got this dress a couple months ago but it took me a while to decide on the perfect time to wear it (#bloggerproblems). However, when the Candy Shop Vintage store opening popped up in my planner, I knew it was time. As its name might suggest, Candy Shop Vintage is known for being colorful, fun, and oh-so sweet, so I needed an outfit to match. Enter: Toucan Sam Shift Dress. Because the print of this dress is so wild, I opted for a simple black envelope clutch and black lace-up heels to balance it out. As for eyewear, my wayfarers seemed like the ideal choice since the black sleeves of this shift give me a sporty, almost wetsuit-esque vibe. Is that just me? K cool.
For the rest of my accessories, my Charleston Rice Beads were a no-brainer. Not only did I want to rep Candy Shop Vintage at their showroom opening, but this necklace goes with absolutely everything – and this outfit was no exception. To top it off, I chose some fun gold midi rings and these little white triangle earrings. I’m usually not a dangly earrings kind of gal, but these were perfect for this look (and were on sale for less than $10)!
If you haven’t visited the Candy Shop Vintage retail showroom yet, it’s now open for business! The space, the decor, the location, and of course, the products could not be any sweeter (see what I did there?), and I wouldn’t expect anything less. Take a look at a couple snapshots I took from the event below, then cruise down to Cannon to get a peek for yourself! And be a doll and pick me up some mini honey cupcakes from Sugar while you’re down there?
