Last week I went to the “Beauty and the Bow Tie” event at one of my favorite Charleston spots, Pink Dot Beauty Bar. Although it was kind of a no-brainer, I decided to wear a bright, fun pink piece to go along with the atmosphere (and name!) of the store. I got this blazer months ago and had been dying to wear it, but hadn’t found the right moment (#whitegirlproblems) until now. I had been on the hunt for a neon pink blazer, and finally found one at Charlotte Russe of all places — it has tiny gold stud details, a flattering shape, and best of all, just got marked down to $19.99. When it arrived, I thought it might be a little too blindingly fluorescent (the website photo is v misleading), but then I remembered there’s no such thing. Anyway, for this outfit, I went with a white peplum tank, white skinny jeans, and my beloved blazer. I’ve always loved the classic white-on-white look, and what better way to jazz it up than a neon blazer? To top it off, I chose tan wedges, a simple clutch, Ray Ban aviators, a chain necklace, gold cuff bracelet, and my go-to rings.
This event was awesome because it was geared towards both ladies and gentlemen. Social Primer promoted their one-of-a-kind bow ties, J.Hilburn displayed their custom luxury menswear, and if that wasn’t enough to draw in the men, the bourbon tasting and bottomless beer did the trick. Gals were encouraged to bring their guy friends, boyfriends, or husbands — and because the event was right before Father’s Day, shopping for Dad was easy breezy.
