We all have those pieces in our wardrobe that easily transition from one activity to the next. They’re always versatile, usually pretty comfortable, and totally worth buying because you’ll be able to wear them with, like, so many outfits — right?
These pants from Old Navy are the definition of a versatile, comfortable piece to perfectly transition from day to night/casual to dressy/work to happy hour. I bought the oh-so-trendy tropical print pair (can’t say no to a trend), but they also come in solid hues and a very classy LEOPARD PRINT that I need immediately. As if these pretty pants couldn’t get any better, they’re only $30. Yes you read that right.
Sometimes transitioning a piece from one event to the next can be easier said than done. These pants prompted me to start a new post series, ‘One Piece, Two Ways,’ where I — I’m not even going to bore you with an explanation because it’s totally self-explanatory. Below you’ll see how I styled the pants for two different occasions: errands around town and a blogger event.
Look #1: Daytime Errands
My goal with this outfit (as with most things I wear) was to be totally comfortable without looking completely homeless. I went with a loose white tank with gold pineapples on it — keeping up with the tropical feel of the pants — some casual flats with metallic gold details, blue mirrored aviators, and a cute bow crossbody bag. As for jewelry, I wore some sparkly studs, my go-to watch, a couple fun bracelets (including a neon yellow one for a pop of color), and my usual fingers full of rings.

Look #2: Evening Blogger Event
Since my first look was very casual, I wanted to jazz things up a little bit for an evening event. First and foremost, I switched out my pineapple tank for a silk top with neon orange trim to add a dressy vibe to the ensemble. Then I traded my flats for wedges, went with a fancier clutch, and took off my shades — because contrary to what Usher thinks, wearing your sunglasses inside makes you look like a douche. Lastly, I opted for some drop earrings instead of studs, traded my starfish cuff for some bangles, took off my watch (who cares what time it is after 5?), and kept my other bracelets and rings the same. I usually keep most of my jewelry the same when transitioning an outfit — I don’t think it’s necessary to change the entire look, just some minor tweaks here and there.
