Easiest Trends Ever: Jumpsuits

Whether it’s daytime or nighttime, a lunch date or a hot date, jumpsuits are one of the most uncomplicated ensembles to throw together. Not only do they come in just about a billion styles, fabrics, colors, and prints, but it’s also a top and a bottom in one — so it basically cuts getting-ready time in half. But if you’re anything like me, you’ll probably still be late.

I have a feeling that many of you will scroll right past this post, thinking, “Oh, I can’t pull that off.” So before you do, I kindly ask that you give jumpsuits a chance. Any of my close friends will tell you, one of my biggest pet peeves is saying you can’t pull something off — so don’t even try. I don’t care if you’re not 6 feet tall, not “trendy” enough, or your legs are too short, anyone can rock this look! By the way, I’m 5’2″ and my legs really are too short, so there.

You know all those maxi dresses and rompers you wore all summer? A jumpsuit is basically a combination of the two — and equally as comfortable. Besides, I bet there was a time when you were afraid of those trends, but now they’re staples, right? Right. My two favorite jumpers (above) took a little getting used to, but now they’re wardrobe essentials. The fun little onesie on the left is from Urban Outfitters, which I generally dress up a little more, and the one on the right, a lucky thrift store find, I usually keep casual.

Jumpsuits tend to look more flattering with heels, but can also look casual and breezy with flat sandals. If you still feel like your suit isn’t as flattering as you’d like it to be, belting it will go a long way. These pieces also come strapless, sleeveless, and long-sleeved so you can even extend jumper season into the chillier months.

What I’m trying to say here is, jumpsuits are unbelievably versatile. How can one trend be sophisticated, bohemian, sexy, and elegant? You’ll find out when you buy one. If you need a little push, try these jumpsuits below.
