I know, I know. This isn’t in California. I understand geography (sometimes) and understand that South Carolina is on the opposite end of the country, but I did say “dreaming” so lay off, man! Although I’m an east coast girl, this laid-back look just screams SoCal to me. When I saw this shirt at Teal, I knew I had to have it. I’m already a sucker for plaid but this top has a fun palm tree print on the back, bringing a whole new meaning to “business in the front, party in the back.” Now are you getting the Cali vibes?
Y’all know how much I love print mixing, so having it on the same piece made my heart explode. Because this top already has a little bit going on, I paired it with some distressed boyfriend jeans. I got these babies on super-sale at Loft (if you’ve never tried Loft jeans, do so immediately) and the price made me feel okay taking scissors to them. They already came a little distressed, but I destroyed the knees and cut off the bottoms to better fit the world’s shortest legs. Gotta love the raw hem trend, amirite short ladies? Ain’t nobody got time to go to the tailor.
As usual, I probably had a little too much fun with accessories. I recently found these fab mirrored sunnies at Forever 21 for only FIVE BUCKS (!!!) and they seemed like a no-brainer for this breezy, beachy look. Also on repeat, my dainty gold initial necklace courtesy of Maya Brenner Designs. Ever since this pretty little piece arrived in my mailbox, I haven’t taken it off! It’s perfect for layering with my other necklaces and I absolutely love that the tiny C is off-center. Obsessed! As for the rest of my jewelry, I went with my shark tooth studs (because duh), my go-to arrow ring, stacks on stacks on stacks of bracelets, and this gold Gorjana cuff bracelet from Rocksbox that I refuse to give back. Speaking of which, if you’re thinking about trying the Netflix of jewelry, feel free to use my promo code “chloexoxo” for your first month free!
Since quite a few aspects of my outfit had a lot going on, I balanced things out with a white quilted crossbody bag and simple white chucks. I went back and forth between my chucks and gold metallic slides, but finally chose the former to keep up the cool vibe and polish things off with crisp white pieces. What do y’all think?
