In case you missed it on my insta, my friend Annie and I had the most delightful little staycation at The Restoration Hotel a few weeks ago. Today I wanted to share a little bit more about our stay with y’all!
Upon my arrival, Annie gave me the full tour of our suite – yes it required a full tour – and we got the whole “we are basically Blair Waldorf” thing out of our systems. With the exposed brick walls, king size beds, full kitchen, and square footage that was probably twice that of my apartment, we were definitely feeling the princess vibes. Bachelorette parties and girls’ weekends, look no further for the perfect suite!
After checking in and getting settled, it was time for The Restoration’s wine and cheese hour. First of all, anywhere with an entire hour dedicated to wine and cheese is somewhere I want to be. Add that to the fact that it takes place in the hotel library, complete with a giant marble fireplace and fluffy fur pillows, and it became somewhere I never wanted to leave.
Annie and I caught up and got our fill of brie, then it was straight to the rooftop bar for some sunset cocktails. The Watch has both outdoor tables and an inside dining area, in case it’s a chillier night and you don’t feel like braving the elements (which it was and we did, because #instagram). However, the panoramic view of the city, the bridge, and the water was totally worth the goosebumps. The Watch boasts some of the best views in Charleston, and I have to say I agree!
After drinks, we grabbed a bite on King (did I mention The Restoration is right in the middle of everything?), then made the trek up to Jeni’s for some ice cream, of course. Always love getting to hang with Annie because she’s just as big of a foodie as I am! Then, in true staycation form, we played tourists and took a pedicab back to the hotel. Can you believe it was my first time taking one in the three years I’ve lived in Charleston?!
Sleeping in our dreamy king beds could only be rivaled by the breakfast situation. You guys – before bed, you fill out a little menu checklist and place it outside the door. The next morning, you wake up to a picnic basket full of goodies from The Rise, The Restoration’s natural light and marbled-filled coffee bar downstairs. Too cute!
Only after filling our phone’s camera rolls with dozens of breakfast-in-bed shots, we filled our bellies with the delicious fresh fruit, chocolate croissants, and greek yogurt from The Rise. Before we made our way downstairs to check out (tear!), we decided to wear out our welcome just a bit more by taking The Restoration’s bikes out for a spin. I don’t know about you all but I hadn’t ridden a bike in years, so I had more fun on this little cruise than I care to admit.
I couldn’t totally do the hotel justice with my iPhone pics (and even the two photos I stole from insta-pro Annie), so I encourage you to check out their online gallery for the full effect. Thanks so much for the relaxing stay, y’all!
